Alvin Lee has served as Head of MSCI’s Southeast Asia Coverage team in Asia since 2015. Prior to that, he served as Head of Financial Institutions Coverage in Asia-Pacific from 2010 to 2012 and Head of Risk Management Analytics Coverage from 2013 to 2014. He joined the firm in 2010 when RiskMetrics Group became a wholly owned subsidiary of MSCI Inc. Mr. Lee and his team work with the senior leadership teams at asset managers, asset owners and financial institutions to support clients’ creation of investment products, asset allocation benchmarks, and portfolio construction and risk management strategies.
Prior to joining MSCI, Mr. Lee spent 11 years at RiskMetrics Group, where he ran the Asia team, whose business lines included portfolio risk management, corporate governance, and environmental and socially responsible investing research. His experience at RiskMetrics started in 1999, with four years of product development experience at the New York headquarters. Before this, Mr. Lee was a Vice President in JPMorgan’s Risk Management Advisory team from 1992 to 1998 in both New York and Singapore, where he developed quantitative models for trading activities and advised selected clients on enterprise risk management.
